A 0.5 km circle drawn around home, walked around as far as possible with stops at most northerly point, the East, the south, West & back to north. Each stop had a prompt from Walking the Land
The walk was tracked by ViewRanger and at each stop I checked What3Words for my location.
Their script in blue – Setting off at 13:15 – Head north you meet the circle.
Once you’ve reached as far north as you can, we invite you to respond to: added to works in your choice of other media, please tell us what can you hear or can’t you hear, that you’d normally expect to? Using words, prose or poetry – How does it feel?
North = lakes.shortens.grudges
Traffic sound only a whisper, birdsong a hallelujah chorus; in more usual and healthier times the opposite applies

Set off heading clockwise, keeping as close to the drawn circle as you can. Walk until you reach the closest point along the circle that is the most easterly point. Time then for: make a work using your choice of medium that shows 3 different and contrasting subjects, either made or natural.
East – Subsystem.arts.barn

South – botanists.sparks.blanks

Set off heading clockwise, keeping as close to the drawn circle as you can. Walk until you reach the closest point along the circle that is the most westerly most point. Continue your walk until you reach the most northerly most point again. You’ve now completed a circuit, returning to a point from a different direction.

Reflect on the walk and create a map that shows your encounters on the walk – encounters can be with things physical and with those that are more personal; your feelings, emotions etc.
